    Joseph and His Brothers

    All Family Members

Read together:  “Joseph Helps His Family” (pages 60-65 in the Spark Story Bible).

    Family conversation cues

    Younger Children

Joseph’s brothers had done some very mean things to him.  Have you ever been mad at someone who unkind and hurt you?  What did you do?  Joseph forgave his brothers.  When we forgive someone, we don’t feel mad anymore and we can be kind to them.

    Older Children

Have you had a time you were treated unfairly?  What did you do?

Why is it important to forgive others as Joseph did?

    Family Blessing

God gave Joseph the power not to be mad and to forgive his brothers for the terrible way they treated him.  God wants us to forgive just like Joseph did.

(Family member’s name), you are a special creation of God.  You are a blessing.

God’s promise to Abraham was really big!  What are some big things that God is doing for you?  Go outside to look at the night sky.  As you count the stars, thank God for the big and little things He has given you.

    Older Children

Is it easier to wait for something when you know when the wait will be over or

    when you don’t know?

Abraham and Sarah kept waiting.  They trusted God to keep His promises—

that’s faith!  What helps you have faith when you are waiting?

    Older Children

Has there ever been a time that someone broke a promise to you?
