    God gave Joseph the power not to be mad and to forgive his brothers for the terrible way they treated him.  God wants us to forgive just like Joseph did.

    God’s Promise to Abraham  


    All Family Members              

    Read together:  “God’s Promises to Abram” and “Abraham and Sarah’s Visitors” (pages 30-37 in the Spark Bible).


    Family conversation cues

    Younger Children

    God’s promise to Abraham was really big!  What are some big things that God is doing for you?  Go outside to look at the night sky.  As you count the stars, thank God for the big and little things He has given you.  

    Older Children

    Is it easier to wait for something when you know when the wait will be over or

    when you don’t know?

    Abraham and Sarah kept waiting.  They trusted God to keep His promises—

    that’s faith!  What helps you have faith when you are waiting?

    We are stars in God’s big family.  Be sure your starlight shines for God.

    Younger Children

    God made a promise to Noah.  Has anyone ever made a promise to you?  What does it mean when someone makes a promise?

    Older Children

    Has there ever been a time that someone broke a promise to you? 

    Sometimes we make a wrong choice and break promises. One of the great things about God is that He never breaks His covenant (promises) to us.

     

    Family Blessing

    When God makes a promise, He keeps it.  A rainbow helps us remember that God keeps His promises to us.  (Family member’s name), you are a special creation of God.  You are a blessing.
